Beth Wynn

Special Education Department Head / Resource Math
I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and graduated from Harlingen High in 1988 where I played percussion in the band.  I have been married to my husband Mick, who is my rock, for 34 years and we have a son who works in commercial refrigeration, a daughter who just graduated from BHS, and a grandson who is a 5th grader and total gammer.
We moved to Burnet in 1999.  I left my job as a dental assistant and changed professions.  I feel life makes us who we are and I would not have been an effective educator if I had chosen this route early in life.
I enjoy hunting and fishing and have a passion for conservation of Texas native species.  I have several cats and dogs and koi.  Even though I am not very good, I enjoy playing COD, Candy Crush, and Words with Friends.
I have been with Burnet CISD and Burnet Middle School for 15 years.  I began as an Instructional Partner focusing on small group reading.  After I finished my Bachelor of Arts degree with Stephen F. Austin State University and Ashford University, I began teaching 6th Grade English Language Arts.  I have since completed my Masters in Education.  I hold certifications in ELA 4th-8th, Generalist 4th-8th, Special Education K-12 as well as endorsements for English as a Second Language, and Gifted and Talented.
About seven years ago I made the move to the Special Education Department.  I am a proud advocate of our Special Education students as a Case Manager.
