Tanner Wiggins

 

 

             I am a Texas State University Alumni who has been around theatre since I was in 6th grade. Though I may have gone to school down the road in LH, I couldn't be more excited to be at Burnet Middle School teaching your children about one of my greatest passions in life, Theatre. My favorite quote for theatre comes from Konstantin Stanislavski, "Love the art in yourself, not yourself in the art". The quote suggests that there is unique talent in all of us and that we should embrace it rather than change it to please others.

           

           This is my 7th year at Burnet CISD and 9th year in education overall. I am very excited to see the continuous growth in the Theatre Arts and Tech classes. Our Theatre Arts course is a hands on acting class focused on exploring several different performance platforms and techniques throughout the year. Improv, radio/readers theatre, puppetry, ensemble scenes, and monologues just to name a few. Our Tech Theatre class will be used to explore the many different jobs and tasks that go into helping create the world of a play. From costuming and props to designing the set of the play itself, these students will get to begin learning what all goes on backstage before as well as during a play. Our Theatre Production class, is specifically designed to give students the opportunity to put their acting and tech skills to use in school productions year round. The students in this class begin and end the year preparing multiple productions for a live audience viewing.
