Today we are turning our "Love it or Leave it" activity into an argumentative essay!
You will take the letter you wrote on Tuesday (the thing you love or are falling out of love with) and you are now going to argue why other people should also love or leave that thing.
I am attaching some slides that show the process and an argumentative essay that Ms. Silhan wrote that argues why everyone should not like red pens. 

Please use this example to write your own on the separate sheet of construction paper!

Be sure to include:

1. INTRO - 
hook and
 CLAIM (ex. Recess is important and should be structured into the school day.)

2. Body - Topic sentence
Evidence (ARGUMENT)

3. Body - Topic sentence and
Counter claim (Some people may think that recess is a waste of time, but .....)

4. Conclusion - In conclusion,
