Jennifer Stewart - Principal
Jennifer Stewart is the Principal at Burnet Middle School. Education and serving students and teachers has been her passion for the past 25 years! Originally from the central Texas area, she graduated from Leander High School, received her Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, and obtained her Master's Degree through Concordia University. Jennifer started her career as a middle school English teacher in Lake Dallas, TX, and then taught at a variety of levels for the next 10 years. For 17 years, she worked for Leander ISD, serving in the roles of teacher, ELA facilitator, coordinator of staff development, and assistant principal at Running Brushy Middle School. Joining the Burnet community in 2018, Jennifer served as an assistant principal at Burnet High School for 2 ½ years and has grown to love the Burnet community, staff, and students. Jennifer and her husband have been married for 26 years and enjoy spending time with their 18 year old son, Kirin, and three cats.
Brad Behrendt- 8th Grade Assistant Principal
Mr. Behrendt will be starting his third year at Burnet Middle School and his 32nd year in education. Mr. Behrendt is a native of West Texas where he is a graduate of Odessa High School and a graduate of The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He has been married to his wife Cheere, who is also in education, for 33 years and they have a daughter named Kali.
Stephanie Buckly - 7th Grade Assistant Principal
Stephanie Buckly is starting her second year as an Assistant Principal at Burnet Middle School. She is originally from Agana, Guam, but grew up in the central Texas area. Mrs. Buckly graduated from Pflugerville High School, then earned both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Texas State University - San Marcos. She is a former Math teacher who is celebrating her 15th year in Education. Mrs. Buckly loves to read, garden, crochet and especially loves to spend time with her husband, three children, and her dog.
Christine Hoffman - 6th Grade Assistant Principal
Christine Hoffman is excited to join the Burnet Middle School family. This year marks Mrs. Hoffman’s 17th year in education, but her first at the middle school level. Originally from San Antonio, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Lutheran University, a Masters in Elementary Education from Texas State University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. Mrs. Hoffman enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Chris, two children, Caden, 15, and Caitlynn, 11 and her dog Tessie.
