Jennifer Stewart - Principal
Jennifer Stewart is the Principal at Burnet Middle School. Education and serving students and teachers has been her passion for the past 27 years! Originally from the central Texas area, she graduated from Leander High School, received her Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, and obtained her Master's Degree through Concordia University. Jennifer started her career as a middle school English teacher in Lake Dallas, TX, and then taught at a variety of levels for the next 10 years. For 17 years, she worked for Leander ISD, serving in the roles of teacher, ELA facilitator, coordinator of staff development, and assistant principal at Running Brushy Middle School. Joining the Burnet community in 2018, Jennifer served as an assistant principal at Burnet High School for 2 ½ years and has grown to love the Burnet community, staff, and students. Jennifer and her husband have been married for 28 years and enjoy spending time with their 19 year old son, Kirin, and three cats.
Michael Clayton - 8th Grade Assistant Principal
Michael Clayton is excited to join Burnet Middle School. This will be his 17th year in education. Michael spent the last year in Leander ISD after moving to Burnet, but spent most of his career in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD as a teacher, instructional coach and curriculum coordinator. Originally from Arlington, Michael graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s of Science in Genetics and from Lamar University with a Master’s in Educational Administration. He and his family enjoy spending time together working and playing outside.
Jeanni Nelson - 7th Grade Assistant Principal
Jeanni Nelson is excited to join Burnet Middle School this year. This will be her 20th year in education, and first year at BMS. She is a proud graduate of Burnet High School, and lifetime resident of Burnet. Mrs. Nelson received her Bachelor's degree from Tarleton State in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master's degree from Texas Tech in Educational Leadership, and School Counselor certification from Angelo State University. She is coming from RJ Richey where she has taught multiple grade levels, and was most recently the Counselor. Mrs. Nelson has a passion for student success and desire to help all children be successful . She is married to Paul, and has 3 wonderful children; Aspen, Traeton, and Pason. She enjoys hanging out with family, being outside in the sunshine and doing crafty projects.
Christine Hoffman - 6th Grade Assistant Principal
Christine Hoffman is excited to be back at Burnet Middle School. This year marks Mrs. Hoffman’s 18th year in education, and her second at the middle school level. Originally from San Antonio, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Lutheran University, a Masters in Elementary Education from Texas State University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. Mrs. Hoffman enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Chris, two children, Caden, 16, and Caitlynn, 12 and her dog Tessie.
