American History (Period 2) Assignments

Read and Follow instructions Student will complete some in class and some outside of class.

Begin analyzing Gettysburg Address which will be done more next week. student will interpret Gettysburg address and put into Journal on page 30. Guided Reading will be completed in class.

Students will take notes on Vicksburg and later events and put notes in journal on page 29

Facts Quiz 10: 96-120

Student will take notes on the following battles of fredericksburg and chancellorsville in a T chart on page 28 of their journal

Read emancipation Proclamation and do HW on perspectives and analysis

Use notes on Early Civil War Battles on page 26 of their journal to help complete the attached One pager

Fill out 321 based on instruction in class and turn in for a grade

Study Guide is due by Friday for 10 extra Credit Points. Students will use journal, phone, and textbook to aide in filling the guide out.

Attached songs will be used for discussion on Friday of Songs during the Civil War

Students will listen to lecture in class and take notes. If not completed student will use master copy to complete student notes and put into journal on page 26

Students will listen to lecture in class on comparing the two sides of the Civil War and if notes are not completed may use the master copy attached to complete notes. The notes go on page 25 of their journal and use Cnotes to copy down any additional information.

Study Guide for 5th six weeks test use to help study for Jackson and Manifest Destiny. Fill out in class on 28 February and Fill out as we cover each section through out the month.

Students will do in class writings on arguments for and against ratification in class.  Student must choose a side either Federalist or Anti Federalist and argue their point of view using the document Arguments for and against ratification.  Notes will be taken in class using the Power Point on the Constitution gets ratified.

Bill of Rights notes will be taken in class using the Power Point. Put summary in journals.

Branches of Gov't Check list to be completed over break using attached power point for assistance if not completed in class

 Narrative Writing Assignment for the End of Lesson 3.  Read Pages 64-71 of United States History to 1877 and answer the Narrative writing Assignment.  

 

Assignment:

Consider the different groups discussed in the Lesson. Write a paragraph that describes what life might have been like for a young member of one of these groups. Use details from the lesson to illustrate how your chosen group adapted to the environment where they lived.
