Coach Travis Meadows
8th Grade CAPS Teacher | Football (OL/DL), Basketball, & Track (Hurdles) Coach
About Me:
Welcome to Burnet Middle School! My name is Travis Meadows (most people call me Coach Meadows). I am a proud Burnet High School alumnus, and my wife and I are raising our four children right here in the community we love. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Baylor University and an MBA from the University of the Incarnate Word. This is my fifth year coaching and my fourth year at BMS. On the field and court, I coach football (Offensive & Defensive Lines), basketball, and track (hurdles). Off the clock, you can usually find me cheering on the Baylor Bears and the Houston Astros!
Teaching & Coaching Philosophy:
In CAPS (Careers, Academics, and Personal Success), my goal is to help 8th graders discover who they are by recognizing their natural strengths and personal preferences. We focus on high school, college, and career readiness while exploring all post-secondary avenues—including military service and direct entry into the workforce. I teach students that real fulfillment and success come through hard work, smart planning, and strong character. My aim is to help them understand how their choices today connect directly to the "real world" tomorrow so they can successfully support themselves, care for future families, and improve our community by becoming upstanding citizens.
Whether in the classroom, on the field, on the court, or on the track, I believe high standards start with trust. I focus on building approachable, respectful relationships with every student and student-athlete, while maintaining high expectations and holding them accountable to their potential.
I’m looking forward to a great year at BMS! Go Dawgs!
