About Ms. Schwyhart

Ms. Schwyhart is a trumpet player from Copperas Cove, a Central Texas town east of Fort Cavazos. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce. In college, she performed as the principal trumpeter in the TAMUC Wind Ensemble for two years, under the direction of Mr. Phillip Clements. She also performed in various ensembles including the “Pride” Marching Band as a trumpet section leader and flugelhorn soloist, the “Pride of the Court” Basketball Pep Band, the TAMUC Brass Choir, Jazz Ensemble I, and a student led ensemble known as Nightfall Brass.
 
While in college, Ms. Schwyhart was an active member of the Zeta Kappa chapter of the national honorary band service fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi. She was also a member and officer of the TAMUC Affiliate Chapter of the International Trumpet Guild, in which she performed in prelude ensembles and affiliate chapter recitals for the 2019 and 2022 conferences.
 
Ms. Schwyhart’s duties within the Burnet Band Program include teaching beginner trumpet, saxophone, and bassoon classes, the 7th/8th grade Symphonic and Concert Bands, as well assisting with the Burnet Middle School Wind Ensemble and the Burnet High School Esprit de Corps.
 
In her free time, Ms. Schwyhart greatly enjoys playing video games, drawing, painting, and spending time with her family.
