Gina Kiser
Welcome to BMS!
This is the beginning of my 29th year in education; the last 16 have been here at Burnet Middle School. Thirteen of those years I taught in the ELA department. In 2021, I was appointed the new Librarian at the Middle School. I love my new role of promoting and supporting literacy throughout out campus.
I have taught preschool to high school Seniors but find middle school to be the place for me. I am enjoying the new adventure as the school's Librarian. I have a passion for reading and writing and enjoy sharing that with students. I hope they leave me feeling encouraged and with a renewed desire to learn new things.
I am originally from Abilene, Texas, where I attended Wylie High School and Hardin-Simmons University. I have been married for 33 years and the mother of three boys. Our oldest son earned a bachelor's degree from Tarleton State University, where he also played football. He went on to complete his Physician Assistant's degree from Hardin-Simmons University. He and his wife have two children and live in Frisco, where he is an Orthopedic PA-C. Our second son is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas. He works as a Loan Officer for Benchmark Mortgage Company in Austin. He and his wife are expecting their first child in January. Our youngest son is a Graduate student at St. Edwards University, majoring in Heath Care Management and playing basketball.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing the piano, reading and spending time with family. We are big sports fans and you can usually find me in the bleachers at various football fields or gyms!
I am looking forward to another great year! Happy Reading!
