About Ms. Faris

My name is Holly Faris.  I am thrilled to be your child’s 6th-grade science teacher this year! Science has always been my passion, and I can't wait to share that enthusiasm with my students. Along with teaching science, I also serve as the Yearbook Sponsor at BMS.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas,

This year, I am beginning my 24th year of teaching middle school. Before joining Burnet CISD, I began my teaching career at Round Rock ISD, where I taught middle school science. During my time there, I was a member of the district's middle school science cohort, collaborating with fellow educators to analyze STAAR assessment data, identify student learning trends, and use data-driven strategies to improve science instruction and student achievement.

Throughout my career, I have taught a variety of middle school courses in addition to science, including Beginner Technology, College and Career Readiness, Math Intervention, and the Worth the Wait health education program. These diverse teaching experiences have strengthened my ability to meet the needs of students with varying interests, abilities, and learning styles while fostering meaningful connections both inside and outside the classroom.
